Do you accept any project?
I accept projects in all styles and feel the more creative freedom I am given the more I can excel on the project. I like to explore new concepts with fresh approaches but do like a few key ideas to adhere to so that the workflow has some direction. I feel that this helps me get the key elements down to make my customer happy but i can in this way surprise them along the way with cool things they haven't thought of to elevate their tattoo.
Deposits and payment
Deposit, Booking and Payment
To book i require a deposit of $400. The deposit ensure that you are serious and will show up on time the day of. The deposit is nonrefundable and goes towards the final session. In the case of a no-show or reschedule with little notice, you will lose your deposit. Unless I can fill the date with another client on short notice. I require a seven day notice for reschedules to retain your deposit. I take deposits and payments through Zelle or Cash app or cash. Pricing Varies greatly upon projects and are case by case and will give you a quote during our consultation.
What is the process?
My process begins with a short consultation during which we discuss idea size and budget, what you can expect the day of the tattoo and end with selection dates after a deposit is sent.
The Day of the appointment
The day of you'll meet me at 902 E 5th St Austin, Tx and I'll bring you inside. We will work on the design together with no rush. About half of the time I am able to tattoo during our first meeting as sometimes the design runs long. I do not like to rush the design because the tattoo can be limited by the preliminaries and for the sake of your final tattoo i would hate to be rushed and limit the quality. I stress the importance of patients in this part of the process.
In cases where a client is coming from out of town in which they often do we either discussed booking back to back days or only design a small portion of the piece so that we can get some tattooing done in the same day.
What to bring
Bring snacks, a pillow, headphones, blanket, a hat and sunglasses (there will be bright lights on all day) a book, your phone charger, some non- blood thinning pain reliever and any other thing you can think of to make your session more comfortable. It is also a good idea to wear clothes you don't mind getting ink on. And for me I prefer not to bright of color clothing so that when I take pictures of the final result for my portfolio it isn't too distraction for the photo.
Healing options
Traditional method
What i recommend is washing 3x a day with antibacterial soap. It must be antibacterial as it is a arge open wound that can be easily infected if not taken care of properly. When it dries a bit more after the first few day you can apply aquaphor to soften the flakes and scabs and to soothe the dryness but careful not to put too much or often as a result red pimples can pop up around the tattoo due to over moisturizing. If this happens let it dry out a bit.
Dermshield method
In some case I like to use Dermshield (second skin)for heals, it tends to be a better method for color tattoos as there is more trauma to the skin due to layering and packing in more color. It has many benefits as it seals the tattoo from the outside world and can even be used to swin although wouldn't recommend swimming. It is crucial to replace the first application that I supply for you after about 18 hours and wash with antibacterial soap. After which you would let dry well before applying the second application.
